How long have you been at BBC?

I did not attend BBC as a member, but each year for 10 years every summer I would bring my youth groups over for the summer youth program, Community Changers.

Tell us more about your family...

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Alycia, for almost 32 years. We have 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law, and 2 grand kids that are the light of our lives. Our oldest, Lindsey, works at Boeing, lives in Merdianville and attends Church of the Highlands, where she is very active serving as a small group leader. Our baby, Kristen is married to Andrew. Kristen is a stay at home mom, but works out of her home with her own business of cake & cookie decorating, photography, and party planning. She is the leader of our youth expressive worship team, Unashamed. Andrew works on the arsenal and also referees and umpires in his spare time. Our grandkids are just that….grand!!! Peyton is 4 years old and has the sweetest smile, ringlet curls, and determination just like her mama. She loves Sunday school, attending BCA preschool, and Poppy pushing her on the swing. Easton is our little man. He is almost 3 years old. He will be attending BCA preschool

this Fall. He has the biggest heart, gives great hugs, and loves anything that his Poppy does. One of our favorite things to do is our annual beach trip. It just doesn’t get much better than a week at the beach with your family. In our family, we laugh a lot, we love immensely, and we lift each other up & encourage one another on a daily basis.

Let's talk more about where you grew up and your early years...

I grew up in Lauderdale County in a small community five miles north of the little town of Anderson called Bethel. Anderson is about twelve miles north of Rogersville. My first job was at Joe Wheeler State Park... I was a golf cart mechanic and I LOVED IT!!!!!!! WHY? FREE GOLF! My brothers and friends got to play free on the cart with me so they loved my job too!

Who has influenced you the most in ministry?

My parents were the number one influencers because of how they raised me and the morals and character that they instilled in me from a very young age. They raised me in a Godly, Christian home... a home full of God's love. Mrs. Francis Berryhill was my youth director who never gave up on me even though I gave her plenty of reasons to. The late Pastor Ricky Michael taught me as a teenager that pastors are people too.. he backed up everything my dad had instilled in me and that was to love God, love people and remember to love people where they are.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Number one, I hardly ever have any spare time.. but when I do, I love to spend it with my wife and my family. I play the guitar and sing everyday, BUT the hobbies I love to do but don't have time for are: Tennis, Golf, Bird hunting, Horseback riding, Woodworking, Knife-making (blade and handle from scratch!), and welding cross necklaces.

What are the top 3 things on your bucket list?

1. Record another album

2. Get my book published

3. Climb that mountain to being completely debt free.

What's one thing that would surprise most people?

I'm afraid of hippos.

What are your favorite foods?

Steak, Cherry-lemon pie, Sweet Tea, and Payday
