Serve Where You Are: Remote Service Ideas
If you are part of our online community and don’t live near a physical campus, you can still be the hands and feet of Jesus exactly where you are. Wherever you are, these family and group projects are simple ways to pour into your local neighborhood.
Support Your Local Heroes & Public Servants
- Encourage First Responders: Assemble "blessing bags" or provide a catered lunch for your local police station or fire department.
- Bless Your Delivery Drivers: Leave a basket of snacks and cold water by your door with a note of appreciation for mail and package carriers.
- Honor Educators & Librarians: Write encouragement letters to school faculty, provide treats for the teacher’s lounge, or bring snacks to your local library staff.
Bring Comfort to Healthcare Centers
- Patient Care: Deliver small gift packages or toys to children’s wards and NICU families to brighten their stay.
- Staff Appreciation: Set up a "hospitality station" with coffee and snacks for busy ER staff and families in waiting rooms.
- Nursing Home Outreach: Deliver fresh flowers to residents, help with light landscaping in their outdoor seating areas, or bring approved snacks for the staff.
Build Community in Your Neighborhood
- Host a Gathering: Use your home as a mission field by hosting a backyard BBQ, a potluck dinner, or a movie night for your neighbors.
- Game Night: Host a trivia or game night (this can even be done virtually using apps like Kahoot or Jackbox) to build relationships with those in your circle.
Care for Families with Special Needs
- Practical Help: Partner with a local family to help with home accessibility projects, like building a wheelchair ramp.
- Respite & Joy: Organize a "Parents’ Day Out" for a couple with a special needs child, or host a small party/field day for residents of a local care home.
