Letter from Our Senior Pastor
Posted on Fri Feb 15 2008 Letter from Lon I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams the incredible honor and privilege of being placed by God to be the under-Shepherd of this great congregation. There are two verses of Scripture that God keeps reaffirming to me that I would like to share with each of you. The first is: 1 Corinthians 2:9: “But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Jeremiah 33:3: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” As we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and as we pray and seek the face of God for His direction, He will release His power and provision, and then we will see all the intangible things that we have dreamed about come to pass! As your pastor, I will do my very best to serve you, my church family, with all the love and passion God has showered down on me and pray the same for each and every one of you. Serving you brings me great joy and fulfillment. Along with taking care of my family, I feel God‘s purpose for my life is to take care of the flock at Bethlehem and birth new souls into the kingdom, as well as raising up ministers to take the Gospel to our world. We are a team. As we combine our gifts and talents and work joyfully together, God’s blessings will fall on us like never before. Ephesians 4:16 says “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. “ Let’s not doubt God’s Word. His Word is truth, and will always be truth, regardless of how we feel or what we are going through. I am calling for us to continue to press toward the ”Unity of the Spirit” at Bethlehem and to be in one accord so we can continue to grow as a church body and effectively reach the lost in our community and beyond. As we touch people with the Love of the Lord and in turn teach them to Love One Another, God will begin to develop effective ministries to Care for People. When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus Himself replied: Mark 12:30-31: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” We are living in exciting times here at The Children’s Ministry will also proceed without a hitch. I am touched each time I see all the precious children our church has been blessed with. I remember the importance of the children’s ministry in the lives of my own children. The joy and excitement they now feel about going to church and fellowshipping with other believers is mainly due to the firm loving foundation they experienced through Children’s Church, Sunday school, and the Children’s Choir--as well as other children ministries at Other exciting visions I foresee in Thank you again, church family, for your love and encouragement. We are in this together and I know God has placed me with the most wonderful people on earth. You are my family. I love you HANG ON!!! THE BEST IS YET TO COME! Serving Christ together, Romans 12:1-2
