SENIOR ADULTS  JUST “GET BETTER”

YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD AT BETHLEHEM

The Senior Adults of Bethlehem (and we don’t put an age limit here) believe in good, strong Christian fellowship, and we follow through on this belief by meeting every Tuesday at 10:00am for Bible Study with Pastor Lon and a covered-dish lunch.  In fact, we have a lot of young ones join us to be a part of the fun.  We have learned that we work well with combining our foods, and although the physical food is necessary for the body, the spiritual food is “out of this world.”  Our desire is one we would hope would be copied and practiced by all Christians:  To follow Jesus’ Example! He increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.  (Luke 2:52)  This means he grew in wisdom (academically), in stature (physically) and in favor with God (spiritually) and man (socially).

Events & Activities:

Our weekly meetings are held from the first week in February thru May. with time off in June or July to enjoy family vacations, etc.  We pick up again the 1^st week of August thru the 1^st week in December, when we have a get-together Christmas Party, an exchange of gifts thru our “Surprise Santa” games, and then off somewhere to eat.  (No cooking for the wives that day!)

On the 1^st Tuesday of each of those months, instead of a covered-dish, we go out to eat for lunch to one of our local restaurants.

Our Ministry never stops!  In addition to our daily responsibilities of witness for the Lord, we also minister to those who are hospitalized and in the nursing homes.  Every year we invite the Agape Nursing Home residents to come for a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner at the church.  Oh, what a joy to fellowship with them!

We take a 4-day trip during the year, usually to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, where we enjoy the beauty of God’s world thru nature, and have fun attending the shows!  We’ve also been to Chattanooga for a beautiful Dinner Cruise; Lawenceburg to the Amish country, Nashville to enjoy the Gather’s Gospel Group, and we've spent time in Branson, MO and a variety of other places during the year!

We are adults who love life, love each other, and love the Lord.  Won’t you come and join us?  Look in the Informer each week... our meetings are announced there as well as any cancellations that might be necessary.
