II Timothy 3:15 says, “...and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.”

Our Preschool Ministry works diligently each week in Sunday School classes and Wednesday night AWANA classes to lay a firm spiritual foundation that should begin in the young life of every child. From Babies to Kindergarten, our ministry works to instill the basics about God,
and the love of Christ in little hearts and minds. Our desire is that every child will receive foundational truths from the Bible so that he or she will eventually become a strong
Christian and build his/her life upon Christ.

Class Schedule:

Sundays: 8am, 9:15am & 10:45am

Wednesdays: 6:30pm

What happens in my child's class?

We believe in teaching, not just babysitting, so we use curriculum that is tailored to preschoolers. We have at least one Teacher and Assistant in each of our classes that will ensure that each child is well cared for and taught the infallible Word of God, even in our nursery! On Wednesdays, Fall through Spring, we have AWANA! The "Cubbies" curriculum features two handbooks written in a fun, storybook style. Each book combines basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help a child grasp one simple biblical truth each week. On Wednesdays in the Summer, we still teach simple biblical truths, but we add a LOT of summer-time fun! We may go outside to play and learn on the playground or even have water play!

How do I find a class for my child?
Right inside the doors of the H2O Mini’s wing, you will find our registration counter where our staff will help you find an age-appropriate class.

What if my child cries when I leave?
In most cases, children will quickly adjust. Once they see the toys and learning centers, they will become involved and forget their separation anxiety. The teachers and staff are trained to deal with upset children, however, if your child continues to cry for 10 minutes, we will page you.

How  will you contact me if my child becomes ill or injured?
All children are given an arm band with a corresponding number that you will receive upon check-in. If you are in the Worship Center: Your child’s name will scroll across the bottom of the screens, so please sit where you can easily one of the three screens. If you are in a Sunday School class: A member of the Preschool Staff will come to your classroom.

How do I know that my child is safe?

Security is one of our top priorities. In addition to the procedures below, we have a security camera and alarm located outside the emergency exit at the end of our preschool hallways. If you have custody issues, please provide us with the proper paperwork so that we will have legal documentation in the event that the other parent tries to get to your child.

Arm/Ankle Bands:
There can be NO exceptions to these procedures! Upon bringing your child to class, a parent must stop by the registration desk to sign him or her in on the provided sheet. An arm/ankle band will be made, which has a corresponding number that will be given to you. You must present your security tag or be approved by the Preschool Director before the teacher can release your child.* If your security tag is misplaced, you must go to the Registration Desk and present a photo I.D. *Siblings, 13 years and older, will be permitted to pick up a child, but he or she must present the security tag.

Volunteers:

For the protection of each child, it is our policy to carefully screen our volunteers. We conduct a background check and personal interview with every prospective teacher and assistant prior to his/her service in the H2O Mini’s Ministry.

Do you have a Wellness Policy?

Yes! We will do our part to prevent the spreading of any disease in the children's classrooms. We always provide clean and sanitized toys, blankets, and crib sheets for each service in our H2O Minis ministry. The rooms are always cleaned and disinfected prior to use. Hand sanitizers are in every room and are used with children prior to snacktime and are used along with disposable gloves for diaper changes.

Our Wellness Policy will be enforced for the health of all children and teachers:

1. Do not bring any child who has had a fever, earache, diarrhea or vomiting within the
24 hours prior to the service or event.
2. We will not admit children who display discolored drainage or skin rash.
3. We will call parents out of service to pick up children who show signs of illness whenever
they become apparent.

A word from our Preschool Minister, Javie McNeal

Javie

It is my belief that one is never too young to learn about God’s love! That’s why here at BBC, we  start teaching how much God loves them in the Nursery! We provide a safe and fun environment for your children, and they will be taught  by the best teachers in the world!
I could not ask for a better place to serve God than Bethlehem.

One great thing about kids is that they are pure and honest... you always know where you stand with a child! Basically, if you love them, they will love you. I get more neck and knee hugs than I could ask for and all the Goldfish®and Nilla Wafers® I can eat!

I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to come and visit BBC and allow us to minister to your family. We believe in teaching, not just baby sitting!
